The fourth generation of Chevrolet Camaro was unveiled for the 1993 model year. The fourth generation was built on an updated GM F-platform, and was available in liftback coupe, T-top, and convertible body styles. Both automatic or manual 6 speed transmissions were offered, as was a V6 and the LT1 V8. Notable variants included the popular Z28 as used for the 1993 Indy 500 Pace Car, and starting in 1995 the SS. 1997 saw the 30th Anniversary Edtion, with some special models receiving the upgraded LT4 V8. In 1998 a new platform of the 5.7L LS1 V8 used on the C5 Corvette was introduced. Another notable variant was the Police Special B4C. Production of the Chevrolet Camaro ended in 2002, and it wouldn't be until the 2010 model year that the Fifth Generation Chevrolet Camaro was introduced.
