The Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was a performance-focused variant of the Fourth Generation Camaro that debuted for the 1993 model year. These new Z28s were available in coupe, T-top, and convertible body styles. The standard V8 under the hood was now the LT1 borrowed from the C4 Corvette and produced 275hp. A Borg Warner 6 speed manual or the 4L60 4 speed automatic were both Z28 optional transmiissions. The Z28, which already had established a reputation for gripping the road, continued to feature performance ride and handling suspension, with beefier front and rear stabilizer bars and computer-selected springs. In 1998 the Camaro was to feature a different V8 block since the cars inception in 1967. For the 1998 model year along with an aero facelift the Z28 option included the aluminum LS1 V8 block. The LS1 was now the standard V8 with 305 Horsepower. 2002 would be the final year for the 4th Gen Camaro Z28, with Camaro fans having to wait until 2014 before the Fifth Generation Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 would make its debut.
