As a swan song for the Fifth Generation Camaro, Chevrolet decided to reintroduce the famed Z/28 name. This limited edition performance variant chaneled the original First Generation Z/28, as it was a raw, track-focused high performance car. This new Z/28 was only offered as a coupe, and featured the removal of a number of comforts in order to save weight. This included the removal of the air conditioning and radio (although these could be re-added at a cost), as well as removal of sound insulation and foam in the rear seat. As well as weight saving, the Z/28 received a full aerodynamic package, including a front splitter and rear spoiler. The most important feature of all was the engine, a mighty 505hp 7.0L 'LS7' V8 engine sourced from the Corvette. This special edition Camaro only saw 1,801 examples built before production ended in 2015.
