In 1965, MG introduced a Pininfarina-designed coupe variant of the MG B that is known as the GT. The B GT shared the 1.8L inline four B-series engine with its Roadster sibling, which was produced by the British Motor Company. In terms of suspension, the B GT received different suspension springs and anti-roll bars. This new hardtop B variant was a 2+2 design, meaning it could fit four people and had space for luggage. In 1973, a V8-powered variant of the GT came to life, featuring a powertrain upgraded with a Rover 3.5L V8 capable of 137bhp. These V8 equipped cars are known as the GT V8. Production of the MG B GT came to an end in 1981.
