The Studebaker Commander was a family of cars that was first introduced in 1927. The Commander originally succeeded the Studebaker Special Six, and was an intermediate full-size model for the majority of its production. Studebaker used the Commander name for a large part of its history, building the model in six generations: 1st Gen (1927-1935), 2nd Gen (1937-1941), 3rd Gen (1947-1952), 4th Gen (1953-1956), 5th Gen (1957-1958), and 6th Gen (1964-1966).
