The Volkswagen New Beetle convertible was an open top variant of the  Volkswagen New Beetle, introduced in 1998. The New Beetle convertible had a front-mounted engine offered in a 115hp 2.0L inline-four and a 100hp 1.9L Turbo diesel inline-four. After a slight aesthetic upgrade in 2006, the New Beetle Convertible was fitted with a 150hp 2.5L inline-five engine. The New Beetle convertible was replaced by the Beetle A5 for the 2012 model year.
