The 208A was introduced by Abarth in 1955 as a one-off creation, designed by Giovanni Michelotti and bodied by Boano, conceived to appeal to the American market with its "Transatlantico" styling. Based on the Fiat 1100 chassis, this 2 door roadster featured rear-wheel drive and a 4 speed manual transmission. Its 1089cc engine, modified by Abarth with Weber carburetors and a custom exhaust manifold, delivered approximately 66hp. Its design included two-tone bodywork and an aerodynamic rear fin, features that made it stand out in its time. Originally commissioned by the DuPont brothers, the 208A Spyder is the only known example and has been the subject of collectors and auctions, standing out as a unique piece in Abarth history.
