The 6C designation was Alfa Romeo's designation for 6-cylinder cars produced between 1927 and 1954, and made available in a wide variety of engine and body configurations. Among the coachbuilders that worked on this platform were James Young, Zagato, Touring Superleggera, Castagna, and Pinin Farina. Due to this, many different types of cars were produced, some of which were extremely rare and produced in low quantities. Because of this, and due to the iconic status of many of these variants, enthusiasts and professionals have produced a great deal of replicas, tributes, and recreations. Even Alfa Romeo produced their own tribute version of one of the 6C 2300 roadsters built in the 1930's: the Alfa Romeo Gran Sport Quattroruote, made between 1965 and 1967.
