The Aston Martin DB5 Convertible was the open top version of the Aston Martin DB5. Introduced in 1963, the DB5 convertible is the rarer of the two body styles that were offered. These sleek convertibles were powered by a 4.0L straight six engine that had an output of 282hp. This power was sent to the rear wheels through a ZF 5 speed manual or Borg Warner 3 speed automatic transmission. Aston Martin also built a more powerful version of the standard DB5 convertible that was known as the DB5 Vantage Convertible. Production of the Aston Martin DB5 ended in 1965, when it was replaced by the Aston Martin DB6.
