Drive from the engine was sent to the rear wheels via a 6 speed 'Touchtronic' automatic gearbox (Updated to 'Touchtronic II' for 2009). The VH I Aston Martin DB9 Automatic coupe was built until 2012, when it was replaced by the updated VH II DB9 Automatic Coupe.
