The second evolution of the Audi S3 was introduced for the 2006 model year as part of the 2nd Gen A3. This updated S3 was now available in a three or five-door hatchback body style. As well as the exterior, the interior received sport-inspired front seats and aluminum accents on the interior trim. A 2.0L turbocharged and intercooled engine makes 265hp delivered through the all-wheel-drive system and managed by a six-speed manual or "S-Tronic" automatic. The engine is transversely mounted in the front of the vehicle. In 2008 Audi gave the S3 a facelift and introduced the five door hatchback body style, known as the “Sportback." With this update Audi also introduced a 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission option. Production of the 2nd Gen Audi S3 ended in 2013, eventually being replaced by the Third Generation Audi S3.
