As is common with many popular BMW models, the BMW G22 4 Series was often converted into a Race Car. A wide range of G22 variants were turned into race cars by both professional race teams, as well as amateur enthusiasts. These cars competed in a wide range of motorsports disciplines, including IMSA, DTM, and Rally Car. Its official version under the development of BMW Motorsport is the M4 GT3, derived from the same platform and conceived for international GT championships with advanced aerodynamics, high-performance turbo engine and optimized weight.
