The K1300 Motorrad was introduced in 2009 by BMW. It was equipped with a 1293cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, transversely mounted, forward leaning inline four engine, paired to a 6 speed manual transmission and shaft drive. The family included the high performance sport touring K1300S (2009–2016); the powerful and aggressive roadster K1300R (2009–2015); and the grand tourer K1300GT (2009–2010). The K1300 stood out for its enormous torque from low revs, improved reliability and a very high level of technology for its time, with Duolever, Paralever, ESA and traction control, becoming one of the fastest and most refined BMWs in its recent history. The BMW K1300 was produced until 2016.
