BMW R100GS Paris-Dakar (1988 to 1996)

The BMW R100GS Paris-Dakar was a series of special edition, dual sport motorcycles that were introduced in 1988. Based on the BMW R100GS, the Paris-Dakar (also referred to as the PD) was inspired by the famous Paris-Dakar rally, and was equipped with a larger gas tank, front impact bars, hard bags, and a luggage rack among its many features. Power came from a 980cc horizontally opposed twin engine that had an output of 60hp. Production of the BMW R100GS Paris-Dakar lasted until 1996.
