BMW R50S (1960 to 1962)

The BMW R50S was a family of sporty motorcycles that debuted in 1960. The R50S was a more powerful evolution of the BMW R50 that was equipped with a high compression 494cc horizontally opposed twin engine that generated 35hp. This engine was paired to a 4 speed transmission that sent drive to the rear wheel via shaft drive. BMW would later introduced a version of the R50S with telescopic forks known as the BMW R50US. Production of the BMW R50S ended in 1969.
