The first generation of Cadillac Eldorado was first introduced for the 1953 model year. The first generation Eldorado was created to be one of Cadillac's halo models, and was only offered as a two door convertible. This first iteration of the Eldorado was powered by a 5.4L V8 engine, and was only available for the 1953 model year. It was replaced by the Second Generation Cadillac Eldorado.
