Carabela was a Mexican motorcycle manufacturer that was founded in 1964. A subsidiary of Acermex, a bicycle company, Carabela built a range of motorcycle models that drew heavily from European brands (as well as engineers). Although the company had a period of success in its earlier years, financial problems eventually saw the company end motorcycle operations in 1987, with parts production lasting until 1990. In recent years, the name has seen a rebirth with new owners, who specialize in building motorcycles from various Chinese parts.
