Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu - 1st Gen (1964 to 1967)

The Chevrolet Chevelle debuted in 1964, and while many body styles came with it, the Malibu line was the most popular among buyers. These First Generation Chevelle Malibu cars allowed for a 4 door or 2 door hardtop, which featured a pillar-less area between the front and rear passengers which translated into a more luxurious open air experience. The Chevelle Malibu was also the only avenue to order the convertible version of this exciting new model. The Malibu was also the first rung on the ladder towards the Malibu SS, which for 64-65 model years got you bucket seats and a console for the inline 6 or V8 engine. Starting in 1966 a Malibu upgrade to a Super Sport then transformed the car into the Chevelle SS-396. The Chevelle Malibu 1st Gen ended with the 1967 model. The 2nd gen Chevelle Malibu began in 1968 and would continue through 1972.
