Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu - 2nd Gen (1968 to 1972)

The Chevelle Malibu was revitalized in 1968 as part of the 2nd Gen Chevelle. The Chevelle Malibu continued to be the optional upgrade from the standard variant Chevelle 300 model. The Malibu offered the convertible model and continued to feature a pillar-less hardtop which now featured a more fastback roofline all the way to end of the rear decklid.  The Malibu was still the way to order the SS-396, however there was a handful of Chevelle 300 2 door post models that got upgraded to a SS-396.  Starting in 1970 many previous SS only options could now be ordered on the Malibu, like optional gauges or the 396ci engine. The Chevelle Malibu model series would continue with the 3rd Gen Chevelle.
