The Chevrolet C40 was a series of medium-duty variants of the 2nd Gen C/K that were introduced for the 1967 model year. The C40 was a 1.5 ton, rear wheel drive truck that was mainly offered in a chassis cab configuration in order to be specialized for various jobs. Powering the C40 was a range of gasoline inline six and V8 engines, as well as a diesel inline four and V6. These engines were paired to a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission, with drive sent to the rear. Production of the 2nd Gen C40 lasted until 1972, when Chevrolet debuted the Third Generation C/K.
