Chevrolet C/K - 4th Gen (1988 to 2002)

The Fourth Generation of the Chevrolet C/K trucks was introduced for the 1988 model year. Also known as the GMT400 platform, the 4th Gen C/K was built in multiple different versions each in either 2WD (C) or 4WD (K) drive-lines. Three payload capacities were available, 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton, creating six main variants: C1500, C2500, C3500, K1500, K2500, and K3500. Three trim levels were also available: Cheyenne, Scottsdale, and at the top of the range, the Silverado. Also, a notable performance oriented C1500 variant known as the 454 SS was introduced for model years 1990 to 1993. In 1999, the C/K series began to be phased out - with some exceptions - and a new generation known as the Chevrolet Silverado was introduced (not to be confused with the trim level of previous years). While the C/K pickup models were dropped by the year 2000, the C3500 HD was produced until 2002 due to fleet demand.
