The Chevrolet K5 Blazer was a series of SUVs introduced for the 1969 model year. The K5 Blazer was based on the Chevrolet C/K and was the company's smallest SUV offering at the time of its launch. The first generation was available in both rear and all wheel drive versions, and was powered by a selection of 250ci and 292ci inline six (4.1L, 4.8L) engines as well as a 307ci or 350ci V8 (5.0L, 5.7L). Due to the popularity of the K5 Blazer, it is commonly converted into a Custom vehicle. First generation K5 Blazers were only available as convertible trucks fitted with a removable hardtop, and were built until 1972, when they were replaced by the Second Generation Chevrolet K5 Blazer.
