The D46 model was introduced by Cisitalia in 1946. It was a single-seater competition car that stood out for its lightweight design and advanced engineering, becoming a benchmark in post-war competition. With power sent to the rear wheels and a manual transmission, this car had a 1100cc inline four engine. In 1947, Tazio Nuvolari took a legendary victory at the Turin Grand Prix in a D46, demonstrating its competitiveness. It was used in several Formula 2 competitions in the following years. The Cisitalia D46 was produced until 1948.
