The Cooper T49, better known as the Cooper Monaco, was the successor of the Cooper T39. It was introduced in 1958 as a lightweight sports racing car, which would become one of the most iconic names for the English manufacturer; scoring more than 136 podium finishes throughout its sporting life. The T49 was powered by Coventry-Climax four-cylinder engines of different displacements; 1,098cc, 1,450cc and & 2,000cc. The T49 was succeeded by the Cooper T57 in 1959.
