The Japanese automobile manufacturer Daihatsu is a subsidiary of Toyota and makes up a small percentage of their sales. Throughout the history of the company, Daihatsu has been known for making small vehicles, such as urban three-wheeled trikes and, more recently, the small class of cars in Japan known as "Kei cars." Examples of these popular cars include the Daihatsu Wake, a tiny five-door minivan, the Copen roadster, and the Hijet truck. Today, the company produces around 15 different models, and not all are Kei cars.
