Devin Special Kit Cars

The Special Kit Cars were introduced by Devin as roadster fiberglass bodies designed to fit a wide variety of chassis and drivetrains, allowing enthusiasts to create customized sports cars. They retained a rear-wheel drive configuration and, depending on the chassis, could be equipped with 4 speed manual transmissions or more, and engines ranging from compact VW and Porsche models to powerful Chevrolet V8s. Their great versatility and affordable price made them very popular with independent builders and amateur racers, spawning a huge variety of "Specials" notable for their lightness, Ferrari inspired lines and ability to compete head to head with much more expensive European sports cars.
