The Ferrari 512 BB/LM is a limited production variant of the Berlinetta Boxer built exclusively for racing. According to RM Sotheby's, in 1978, Ferrari built a total of 4 "Series 1" BB/LM for use by private racing teams, based on the Ferrari 512 BB platform. An additional 16 cars were built by 1981 and are known as Series 3 cars. The 5.0-liter F102B flat-twelve engine from the 512 BB was upgraded with forged internals and high compression pistons. In its final form, the Series 3 BB/LM had a factory rating of 480 horsepower.
