Ford F-1 - 1st Gen (1951 to 1952)

The Ford F-1 was a 1/2-Ton, regular cab truck that was part of the 1951-1952 Ford F-Series. While on the same chassis as the original F-1 significant updates were made to the exterior styling, from the cab to the pickup bed and interior convenience features. While the F-1 was most familiar as a 6 1/2' pickup bed, multiple configurations were available, including a parcel delivery truck, deluxe panel truck, 8' pickup,  platform/stake, and cab-only. Notably, the front end was updated to a broader "horizontal wing" grill. Overall the powertrain and drivetrain were updated to be more robust and reliable, including an inline "clipper six" overhead valve six-cylinder and the traditional flathead V8 mated to a three or four-speed manual transmission. Ford marketed this generation as "The Worlds Greatest Trucks," and heavier-duty versions were available such as the F-2 and F-3.
