The RS Mk1 was introduced in 2002 exclusively for the European market, based on the Ford Focus Mk1 (EU). Available only in a 3 door hatchback body, it stood out for its purist, performance-oriented approach. It was equipped with a 2.0L Turbocharged inline four engine, paired to a 5 speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Its handling was aggressive and direct, with no electronic aids such as traction control, making it a demanding car and highly appreciated by enthusiasts. The Ford Focus RS Mk1 was produced until 2004.
