Ford Mustang - Race Cars - 1st Gen (1965 to 1966)

In order to fall in line with the Mustang's sporty image, Ford created a wide range of race cars for the 1965-1966 Ford Mustang. These cars were raced in a variety of classes and categories, including drag racing, sports car racing, and rally racing. There were both factory-backed cars as well as privateers. One of the most notable race cars of this era was the Ford Mustang A/FX.
