Ford Mustang Hardtop - 1st Gen (1967 to 1968)

The Hardtop body style was one of three available for the Base 1967-1968 First Generation Ford Mustang. Alongside the Fastback and Convertible body styles, the Hardtop was available with a variety of engines: the "T-code" 200 cubic inch (3.3L) 120hp inline six, the "C-code" 289 cubic inch (4.7L) 200hp V8, the "A-code" 289 cubic inch (4.7L) 225hp V8, the "K-code" 289 cubic inch (4.7L) 'HiPo' 271hp V8, the "F-code" 302 cubic inch (4.9L) 210hp V8, and the "J-code" 302 cubic inch (4.9L) 230hp V8. The top engine offering was Ford's new "S-code" 390 cubic inch (6.4L) 'FE' big block V8 engine, which had an output of 320hp. Notably, the "A-code" and the "K-code" 289 V8s were only offered for the 1967 model year, while the "F-code" and "J-code" 302 V8s were only available for 1968. These engines were available with three transmissions: a 3 speed manual, a 4 speed manual, or a 3 speed automatic, all of which sent drive to the rear wheels. The Base Model 1967-1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop was replaced when Ford introduced the 1969-1970 First Generation Ford Mustang.
