The Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 50th Anniversary Edition Super Snake was a limited production special edition of the S-197 II Shelby Mustang. Introduced for the 2012 model year, the GT500 50th Anniversary Edition Super Snake was created to celebrate Shelby American's 50th Anniversary and was based on the S-197 II GT500 Super Snake. These special commemorative cars were powered by a 5.4L V8 engine that was equipped with a Whipple supercharger that saw an output of over 800hp that was sent to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual transmission. Just 50 examples of the S-197 II Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 50th Anniversary Edition Super Snake were built, making them a special collectors item.
