Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 - S-197 II (2010 to 2014)

The Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 was a high performance variant of the S-197 II Shelby Mustang that debuted for the 2010 model year. The GT500 was offered in both coupe and convertible body styles, and was originally powered by a supercharged 5.4L V8 engine that generated 540hp and 510 lb ft of torque. This engine sent power to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual transmission. In addition to the engine, the GT500 was given various upgraded components, such as suspension and aerodynamics, that improved overall performance. For the 2013 model year, Ford updated the GT500, introducing a new 662hp supercharged 5.8L V8, as well as various cosmetic and mechanical updates. Production of the S-197 II Shelby Mustang GT500 ended in 2014, but the GT500 name remained in use for the next generation of Shelby Mustangs, as the 3rd Gen Shelby Mustang GT500.
