The Geo Metro was a family of compact cars that debuted for the 1989 model year. The Metro was based on the Suzuki Cultus, and over the course of production was built in a range of body styles including hatchback and convertible. These cars were built in two generations: 1st Gen (1989-1994) and 2nd Gen (1995-1997), and were powered by a 1.0L inline three engine. This engine was paired to manual or automatic transmission options with power going to the front wheels. Production of the Geo Metro ended in 1997 when the model was rebadged under Chevrolet as the Chevrolet Metro.
