Gumpert was a German supercar brand founded in 2004 by Roland Gumpert, former director of AudiSport. Its only production model was the Apollo, a two-seater coupe with an Audi twin-turbo V8 engine focused on extreme performance and record laps on circuits, including the Nürburgring. Despite its outstanding engineering, the company faced financial difficulties and declared bankruptcy in 2013. It was acquired by Hong Kong investors who relaunched the brand in 2016 as Apollo Automobil, abandoning the Gumpert name.
