The Hennessey Venom GT became the companys first bespoke model when it was introduced for the 2011 model year. The Venom GT was built using a Lotus Elise platform, with the notable addition of an incredibly powerful V8 engine that was built using a Chevrolet LS7 as a base. This engine was equipped with twin turbos that helped generate a massive output of 1,244hp that was sent to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual transmission. Both coupe and targa (Spyder) versions were built, with 6 Spyders and 7 coupes created respectively. At the end of production, just a total of 13 examples were built including the prototype.
