The Postwar Minx was introduced by Hillman in 1945. During its years of production it had variants from the MKI up to the MKVIII. The MKI was the first Minx with a protruding boot, replacing the flat rear appearance inherited from the Prewar models. Between 1947 and 1948, Hillman offered the MKII as a slightly modified version. In 1948, with a more modern appearance, the MKIII arrived. All these came with the 1.2L inline four engine, until 1949 when the MKIV arrived with the 1.3L inline four. In 1951 the MKV was introduced with chrome side moldings and a floor-mounted handbrake. In 1953 the MKVI and MKVII were presented with notable changes to the grille, fenders and trunk. Finally in 1954 the MKVIII arrived with the 1.4L inline four engine. The Postwar Hillman Minx generation was produced until 1957, when it was replaced by the Audax.
