The Hispano-Suiza Type 20 Bis was built in 1913 and derived from a unique Marc Birkigt-designed engine known as the Type 21. Characterized as a "limited edition" sports car, it was undoubtedly influenced by the fabled Alfonso XIII. However, it was more expensive. Some of the vehicles were built on the Hispano-Suiza 15hp chassis, which was somewhat common. The engine, however, was something exotic for the period featuring an overhead camshaft. In all, it is estimated that just over 20 of these cars were built.
