The Honda NSX Type S was a limited production, high performance variant of the NA2 Honda NSX that debuted for the 1998 model year. Exclusive to the Japanese market, the NSX Type S followed the ethos of the NSX Type R by focusing on weight saving and dynamic improvements, in fact, the Type S featured many of the same weight saving measures as the Type R, resulting in a savings of 99lbs over the standard NA2 Coupe. Various other upgrades and changes, such as the removal of the power steering, turned the Type S into an impressive drivers car. A very rare car, just 209 examples of the NA2 Honda NSX Type S were produced.
