It was 1952 when Kurtis started selling the 500KK as a kit-car to be built at home. It included a rolling chassis that was the famous KK chassis used in the Indy-cars. As Frank Kurtis himeself added “practically an Indianapolis 500 racing car with fenders and lights added”. It could be fitted with a variety of American V8 engines and several coachworks were available to suit the car. Several kits were sold and even made it to international races.
