The Series III was the last evolution of the Lamborghini Espada, and was manufactured between 1972 and 1978. The same 4.0L V12 was carried over from the previous series, with a slight power increase available from 1977 until the end of production. As was the case with the Series II, the Series III featured a great deal of interior updates. All controls and switches featured new aluminum trim, and were placed within reach of the driver for a more commanding driving position. The most visible change to the exterior design was the introduction of new wheel hubs, replacing the previous series' knock-off wheels. Other exterior tweaks included a square front grill mesh, and new taillights. In 1975, due to US regulations, large impact bumpers were added. A total of 456 examples of the Espada Series III were built.
