During the 1990’s Lola continued to be an important player for the decade, having great success in the Indy/CART series. The T90/00 was brought to life for the 1990 season, powered by a Chevrolet 2.65cc turbo engine producing up to 800hp. The T90/00 gave Al Unser Jr. his first Indy/CART championship by obtaining 12 victories in the season. With the T91/00 Lola dominated the 1991 season, obtaining 15 victories out of 17 races, with the same power plant as the T90/00. Mario Andretti won the championship for the season. The T92/00 was used during the 1992 season, giving Lola another championship now in the hands of Bobby Rahal. The T92/00 had three possible turbo-engine configuration; Chevrolet V8, Buick V6 and Ford/Cosworth. The T93/00 was developed for the 1993 series, powered by a turbo Ford/Cosworth engine producing up to 850hp; it is also known as the car that gave Nigel Mansell his maiden Indy/CART victory. Unfortunately for Lola the T94/00 was not a very competitive car, and just like the T92/00 it had different engine alternatives; instead of the Buick V6 you could have a Honda V8 turbo. Mercedes-Benz first appeared to be fitted in the T95/00 Lola for the 1995, but still the car was not very competitive compared to its rival Reynard. For the remainder of the decade, the Lola cars were not very competitive, failing even to score victories in some season, the T96/00 for 1996, T97/00 for 1997, T98/00 for 1998 and T99/00 for 1999 gave Lola a very hard time and lost some traction within the industry; luckily the early 2000’s would become golden years.
