The Lotus Elan +2 (or Plus 2), was a longer-wheelbase, wider-track, 4-seater coupe developed in 1967 by Lotus to expand the market the original Elan (Type 26, 36 & 45) was targeted at. It was designed to transport 2 adults, 2 children and luggage in comfort, something the Elan was uncapable of doing at the time. It was fitted with the same twin-cam 1.6L Lotus-Ford engine as the Elan, and over the course of production between 1967 and 1975, saw three different variants offered: the +2, the +2S and the +2S-130.
