Based on the Maserati Tipo 26, the 26B featured the same style chassis and supercharged inline eight-cylinder engine, however the 26B displaced 2.0 liters. The engine was progressive and featured dual overhead cams and a dry-sump lubrication system. The car competed in the 1927 Targa Florio, and 1930 Indianapolis 500. A special 26B MM was produced with a sports car body for the 1928 Mille Miglia. Only six units are known to have been built when the car ended its production run in 1930.
