The 2nd Generation of the Mazdaspeed3 was introduced in 2010. It maintained the five-door hatchback format with front-wheel drive and a 6 speed manual transmission, just like its predecessor. It also retained the same 2.3L turbocharged inline four engine. This generation was distinguished by a more aggressive and polarizing design, especially its prominent "smiley" grille. Although it received chassis, suspension, and torque control improvements to reduce torque steer, it remained a potent and challenging hot hatch, valued for its raw performance and enthusiastic focus. The 2nd Gen Mazdaspeed3 was produced until 2013.
