The Mazda RX-7 'PEG' are vehicles from the FD Generation of RX-7, sold between 1994 and 1995, that featured the Popular Equipment Group package. The PEG is an evolution of the comfort or luxury focused Touring package that was phased out during the 1994 model year. Like the RX-7 Touring, the PEG package featured leather seats, cruise control, and a sunroof, but it removed the rear wiper and the controversial Bose subwoofer system in the rear. Optional items include a rear spoiler as found in the RX-7 R1/R2 version and the foglights that were standard in the Touring version. Like the rest of the FD range, the RX-7 'PEG' version was powered by Mazda's 1.3L 13B rotary twin-turbo engine capable of 255hp, driving power the rear via a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional, and far less common, 4 speed automatic. The RX-7 'PEG' was only in production until 1995.
