Mazda RX-7 Type R - FD - 3rd Gen (1992 to 2002)

The Mazda RX-7 Type R, also known as the Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R, is a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) version of the Third Generation Mazda RX-7 (chassis code FD3S). The Type R is the JDM equivalent of the performance focused RX-7 R1 and R2 that were available in the US. The Type R was initially powered by Mazda's 1.3L 13B rotary twin-turbo engine capable of 255hp, sending power to the rear via a 5-speed manual transmission. As of 1998 it was uprated to a rating of 276hp. The RX-7 Type R spawned additional variants such as the Type R Bathurst and final year production variant known as the Spirit R.
