Mercedes-Benz 600SE / S600 - W140 (1992 to 1999)

The Mercedes-Benz 600SE, later known as the S600, was one of the top variants offered for the W140 S-Class Sedan. The 600 SE was built on the standard length W140 platform, and was powered by Mercedes' M120 E60 engine. This 6.0L V12 powerplant generated 390hp, which it sent to the rear wheels via a 4 or 5 speed automatic transmission. The 600SE became known as the S600 in 1993 when Mercedes changed their naming conventions, although the car offered remained the same. Production of the W140 S600 ended in 1999, although the model series continued life in the next generation W220 S-Class as the W220 Mercedes-Benz S600.
