The Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 Edition was a limited edition coupe variant of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren that was available for the 2007 model year. The 722 Edition was named in honor of Sir Stirling Moss' victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia race, in which Moss had a start time of 7:22am. In addition to various styling tweaks inside and outside the car, the SLR 722 Edition received improvements to the drivetrain and suspension that increased performance and decreased overall weight. Most notably, the supercharged 5.4L V8 featured in the standard SLR saw updates which increased output to 641hp and 604 lb ft of torque. The 5 speed automatic transmission that sent power to the rear wheels was unchanged. Only a total of 150 examples of the Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 Edition were built.
