The second generation of Mercury Marauder was introduced for the 1969 model year. The second generation of Marauder was reinvented as a personal luxury car, thus losing much of performance aspect of the previous generation. Although still fitted with powerful 6.4L (390 cu in) or 7.0L (429 cu in) V8 engines, the second generation Marauder was markedly different from its preceding generation. Offered exclusively as a two door hardtop, this latest generation of Marauder was produced until 1970, when the Marauder name was put on haitus. The name was briefly reborn for one final time in 2003 for the Third Generation Mercury Marauder.
